Overview

in moviemaking, students learn the art and craft of making digital movies. They learn to use cameras, lights, and microphones, they learn to edit using Final Cut (Express or Pro), and they study how movies change and vary over time and place and the influence changes in technology have on the medium and its place in a culture. The class welcomes students with no experience and those with years of moviemaking behind them. The nature of the class allows each student great latitude in shaping his/her experience, the skills he/she wants to learn, and the type of work he/she will produce.

One way that students learn is through projects and exercises. Some are required, but most are optional, with students creating their own goals and defining how they will reach them and how they will be evaluated on them. The Challenge Projects listed below are one way students can set goals for themselves.
