Sights and Day Trips

Some say that there is a lot to do here in this town. Some just simply call it home. But here are our top tourist attractions that we think are most enjoyed by welcomed visitors.

1. One day you might want to spend a morning looking at The Wall and the Damascus Gate. These are the walls which were built by who else, other then Sulieiman our great sultan. It currently has seven gates. A common favorite of natives is the Damascus Gate. This is our main gate located on the northern side. And to defend our selves if ever necessary we have a read defense. We have heavy doors, slits to shoot arrows from and places in which one could spill boiling oil onto its prey. This site is not only a readily visited one, but also a common pride in our city.

2. Maybe you could help! A good afternoon activity would be to help us on a project in process! Come to help build Mishkenot Sh'ananim. This will be a residential area that will be enjoyed by everyone. And you could help build this area that will be looked upon and maybe famous in the future.

3. A whole day! Spend a day at the Tower of David. This beautiful fortress was built in ancient times, and has served as a northern and western defense system since the second century BCE. This invasion blockade has been done, redone, again and again. This is because to many of our rulers, this fortress or tower can be looked upon as the symbol of Jerusalem. This is presented almost as a competition, to redo the tower to outdo their predecessors and to show their greatness. This place is so breathtaking, it is thought that someday, buildings will be built after it, and it will be looked after for many and many years to come.
