Delhi is the third largest city in India(6). New Delhi is the capital of India. Delhi dates back to 1400 B.C. when a Panava King named Yudhisthira built a city called Indraprastha. Raja Dhilu built a city named Delhi in the first century B.C. In the 12th century A.D., the ruler Prthviraja III governed Delhi. Qutb-ud-Din Aybak, a muslim and founder of the Muíizzi dynasty and developer of the Qutb Minar Tower, defeated Prthviraja III. The city of Delhi has been rebuilt by different people eight times. Shah Jahan built the seventh city, which is called Shahjahanabad, in 1638. This is also known as Old Delhi.When Delhi was finally under British rule, it gained a lot of power and did extremely well.The eigth and final city of Delhi was built by the British; this is referred to as New Delhi(5).

Numerous foreign powers have violently occupied this area because of its strategic location for trading. The area that Delhi is situated on is the west bank of the Yamuna River, a tributary of the Ganges and the Himalayas are about 100 miles north(6). Besides Delhi having a huge population, it also is the main transportation center because of its geographic position. Five national highways and many railroad lines and the Indira Gandhi international airport, connect people coming from all over the world(7). The religion of Delhi is mostly Hindu, with Muslim coming in second(8).
