Economic

Since India has become independent it has promoted a mixed economic system in which the government plays a major role in the planning and production of the country. Despite this role however many corporate companies dominate many fields of modern economics in India. No more than one- fifth of India's vast labor force is employed in the "organized sector of the economy. This includes such jobs as mining, plantation, agriculture, factory industry, modern transportation, utilities, and commercial services.

Another aspect of the economy is the breakdown of the ancient caste system that was in place for so many years. This system restricted people from growing and changing into more successful people. Only till about 60 years ago has the system actually been broken down. Though many people still want to cling on to this system it is not legal in India anymore
