You will not be given the question in advance, but it ties together the entire year. Your examples may be primarily from this semester. Don’t worry—if you study in general, you should be able to answer the question easily.
Essay Choices (30 Points)
Two of these essay questions will show up on your exam and you will be required to answer ONE of the questions.
- Nationalism was a powerful political and social force in the late19th and 20th centuries. Pick three historical examples and discuss how nationalism helped shape the history of the world. (The examples should not all focus on the same country or region).
- Was the Three World Order that emerged in the wake of WWII merely an extension of 19th century imperialism? Use concrete examples to prove your argument.
- Why is it important to recognize different perspectives in history? Choose one major event or movement in the late19th or 20th century and examine that event from three different perspectives.
- Choose three major challenges facing the world today and discuss how these challenges relate to the title of the textbook, World’s Together, World’s Apart.
