1. Go to the Ethnic Studies homepage (http://sun.menloschool.org/~sportman/ethnic/) and click on the link that says "Migration and Ethnicity on H-Net" and read through this information. After reading the university course descriptions and h-net definition of ethnic studies, I want you to create your own description of what you think the purpose of ethnic studies is. Your description should be one clear, coherent paragraph (typed and double-spaced).

2. Go to the Ethnic Studies homepage (http://sun.menloschool.org/~sportman/ethnic/) and click on the link that says "How Race is Lived in America: A New York Times Special Report." On the side of that linked page, it says Questionnaire. Click on the share link and answer the questions. We'll be talking about your response in class.
