Should a girl under eighteen have the right to decide the fate of her baby when she can not even have the legal right to decide the fate of herself?

Introduction

Abortion is a widely talked about issue. A lot of people have very strong, opposing views on the topic. Some feel that teenage girls who are under the age of eighteen should not have the legal right to decide to have an abortion because she is not an adult yet. Others feel that since it is her body and her baby, that she should have the right to decide for an abortion.

What makes matters worse is that each state has their own set of laws. Right now, in California, there are no laws against minors telling their parents if they are going to have an abortion. For some that is good, and others not so good. By having minors tell their parents, maybe a life of a baby could be saved; but by not telling and going ahead with the abortion, the relationship between parents and daughter could be saved. If one state is against not telling a teenager's parents, that girl is able to travel to another state and have an abortion without her parent's consent. Some girls feel that they can not tell their parents because it might be against their family values or even their cultural values.

Still, the decision is up to you to for what you feel is right or wrong. This website project will provide you with both sides on the subject matter, including a couple pictures and links. Hopefully it will bring some more insight to you to teach you more about teenagers and abortion.
