Military Intervention Around The World; The Green Berets
The United States Army has a special forces division entitled the Green Berets. The Green Berets go through very rigorous military training, including cross-training with the Navy SEALs and the Marine Corps Force Reconaissance. To some this training is not worth the time because the purpose of the Green Berets is controversial.
Once the Green Berets finish their training they immediately begin to serve their purpose of training militaries from other countries. Due to the expansive military training, including a segment in their training that deals with people skills and certain potential situations the Green Berets will face, they are more than sufficiently prepared to train other militaries with the patience required to deal with people of another language and background.
Some may question the purpose of the Green Berets. Some critique it as a waste of America's time and money. Others think it is a good foriegn policy to work with allied countries, and help their military out for potential future assistance in the case of war, for example. Some patriots think the Green Berets are wasting their time supporting other countries rather than supporting the United States, while other patriots believe it supportively spreads Americanism.
The points argued in the conflict between the Pro's and Con's are very legitamate. There is not one ethical opinion that can be had over this matter; both the Pro and Con side can be looked at ethically and unethically. It is up to the reader to become informed about both the Pro and Con sides of this subject, then to make their decision and realize that either side can be looked at as the ethical side.
