ONE WAY TO TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT THE VITALITY OF SF BAY....

By the end of this project we hope that you have a good understanding of the value of the SF Bay, it's wetlands, salt marshes, uplands, and watershed. Hopefully, you also feel compelled to begin to take action to help support the efforts to protect, restore, enhance, and expand. There are many ways to take action. You can donate funds individually or organize a fundraiser, volunteer by yourself or with a larger group of people, advocate for the Bay at a local meeting about the issues you have researched, teach others what you have learned (you already have the PowerPoint!), or simply write a letter to a local, state, or national political figure or organization. The following link provides a sample letter for you to use as a model for your own letter addressing your topic. Notice how the letter thanks the agency involved for their positive steps then encourages the officials to do more. If you feel like you understand the issue Save the Bay (the authors of the letter) is advocating for than feel free to print out a sample letter and send it in!
