Steps for reading and summarizing a Science Article.
Step1. Read and annotate the article. (hand in this article with your summary)
Write comments and questions in the margins of the article
Underline important science words/terms you don't understand
Highlight important sections
Step 2: Wait and read the article through all the way before attempting to write the summary.
Step 3: Make a list of the main points covered
in the article.

Organize in single sentences using bullet points.
ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚTry to write one sentence per paragraph.(some paragraphs may not
need a sentence)
Step 4: Write an introduction(abstract) of
the article by basically saying what the article's about. (3-5 sentences long)

Step 5: Write 2 -3 sentences giving your personal response to the article.
Step 6: Write 2-4 questions/ideas that the article raised in your mind. (Extra credit for finding answers to these questions)
Step 7: Create a vocab list for the important scientific terms you didn't know
Step 8: Now lay out your completed article

your response, questions and finally the vocabulary list. Staple the annoated
article to the back of this document.
