Phosphorous
(P2O5) phosphoric acid formed: 3Ca3(PO4)2 x CaF2 + 10H2SO4 + 20H2O --> 6H3PO4 + 10CASO4 x 2H2O + 2HF extracting phosphorous reaction: 2Ca3(PO4)2(s) + 6SiO2(s) --> 6CaSiO3(l) + 10CO(g) + P4 (g) To contain and store superphosphoric acid, a more pure and concentrated form of phosphorous, you need to keep it in a high temperature environment. Ammonia reacts with monocalcium phosphate to form the reaction formula: Ca(H2PO4)2 x H2O + NH3 --> CaHPO4 + NH4H2PO4 + H2O The curing process allows complete reaction of the sulfuric acid by penetration of the phosphate rock which maximizes the availability of the P O content. To extract phosphorous from orthophosphoric acid, H PO , we use either of the two processes: the electric furnace or acidulation of phosphate rock.
