Day 13: Quillan to Toulouse via La Mongie - Tour de France Stage 11

Today we loaded the bikes onto a bus and drove for several hours to Bagneres de Bigorre, where we parked and jumped onto our bikes to once again climb the Tourmalet, this time from the east side. However, after a late start we were stopped by the gendarmes far below the finish at La Mongie, and ended up watching the race from just above Gripp. The rain that had plagued us this week was long gone and it was a hot sunny day. The Tour stage went from Pau to La Mongie, via Col d'Aubisque and Soulor. As you can see, this side of the Tourmalet is even steeper than the west side!

Wait, wait, wait.....

Day 14: Toulouse

For our last day most of the group rode the bus to watch the Tour again, this time Stage 12 at Plateau de Beille. We were leaving early the next morning though and so opted to spend the day in Toulouse.
